The Scottie project is a short, independent film created by EAST students Brandon Bell, Susie McCombs and filmmaker Garrett Danz. The film is being created to raise child abuse awareness, by exploring the mind and odd behavior of abuse victim, Scottie, and his daily activities that eventually begin to blend into abuse toward others. The Scottie project’s mission is to demonstrate that abuse is more than the physical striking of a child, and will display the greater emotional power parental neglect can have.
The film’s desired response from the audience is awareness from those guilty of the indicated issue and motivation from the hearts of those willing to reach out help end abuse.
